Bluffton Family Recreation announces its next session of after-school youth programming held from Feb. 19 to March 30.

The following programs are signing up now:

Soccer Fun (6 & under)- Mondays 3:30-4:15 p.m.
Rookie Sports- Tuesdays 4:30-5:15 p.m.
Soccer Skills- Thursdays 3:30-4:15 p.m.
Football Basics- Thursdays 4:30-5:30 p.m.
K-3 Basketball-Thursdays 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Little Movers (18months-5yrs)- Fridays 10a.m.

Bluffton University will host an instrumental concert featuring its Concert Band at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, in Yoder Recital Hall. Under the direction of Dr. Roy Couch, assistant professor of music, the concert band will perform both original and arranged compositions.

The Scoreboard, 111 N. Main St., Bluffton, has a buy one, get one (BOGO) special sale this month, according to Natalie Mueller, owner.

Buy one item and get 30 percent off a second item of equal or lesser value.

Bluffton's pathway board, meeting on Feb. 1, is working on details of the Bentley Road pathway. Construction will take place in 2018. The pathway will go from Augsburger Road to the bridge near Kibler Street. Members and village representatives from left, Jesse Blackburn, Jim Harder, John Rich, Dick Ramseyer, Ben Stahl, Greg Denecker, Dima Snyder, Laura Voth and Joe Sehlhorst. Missing, Mitch Kingsley and Fred Steiner.

I like photography because I can experiment with different angles and moods

 Kassandra Bishop, a Bluffton High School senior, is the Bluffton Icon's artist of the month.

She has taken photography classes.

After high school she plans to attend Malone University to study Zoo and Wildlife Biology.

About photography, she said, "I enjoy photography because I love capturing memories and experimenting with different angles and moods I can show in my photos.

Maple Aires sing at Senior Center noon program

The Maple Aires, men’s choir from Maple Crest, will entertain at the Monday, Feb. 12, Bluffton Senior Citizens Association noon dinner meeting, according to Tony Meyer, director.

The meeting is a potluck. The Center will provide sloppy Joes. Persons attending are invited to bring a dish to share in addition to bringing your own place setting.

Several other programs are on the Center’s winter calendar

A spring garage sale is set for Thursday, March 1 through Monday, March 5. It takes place in conjunction with the SHANNON Service Club garage sale that same weekend.
