Seniors Greg Koviak of Clyde, and Lauren Dickerson of Goshen, Ind., were crowned Bluffton University’s Homecoming king and queen at halftime of the annual Homecoming football game on Oct. 7.
Other seniors on the Homecoming court were Bryce Butler of Bucyrus, and Erika Byler of Shipshewana Ind. Junior attendants were Thomas Wagler of Bloomdale, and Jena O’Brien of Toledo, while sophomore attendants were LaJohn Beasley of Columbus, and Leslie Beasley of Columbus.

Margaret I. “Peggy” Wilgus, 89, of Bluffton and formerly of Spencerville, died at 1:55 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, in the Bowling Green Hospice Center.
She was born March 26, 1928, in Lima, the daughter of Howard and Violet Sockrider Cook, who are deceased. Her step-father Howard Preston is also deceased. On Feb. 27, 1948 she married Lewis E. Wilgus, who died May 23, 2014.
The Pandora-Gilboa midget football team won the 2017 NorthWest Midget Football League champions. PG defeated Patrick Henry 30-0 on a soggy Saturday night at McComb HS field.
Apollo Career Center is hosting an Ice Cream and Explore Day for students and their grandparents Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Students will act as their grandparents' tour guides for program visits and campus exploration. The visit will culminate with one-on-one time over ice cream in the Apollo Commons. To date, over 350 grandparents have signed up for the event.
