Rachel Woodruff of Bluffton was recognized as an outstanding student at the Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute's 28th annual student recognition banquet on April 12.
Woodruff will graduate May 6 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in
greenhouse and nursery management.
She was selected this year by the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences as a Newcomb Scholar and achieved Director’s List honors. She completed an internship at Bern’s Greenhouse and Garden Center.
Matthew Bowden was the 2017 BHS prom king. The queen was Haley Baker. This year's prom theme was Tropical Paradise and it took place in Marbeck Center. Jamie Nygaard was there and share many photos below.
Bluffton became a tropical paradise on Saturday thanks to efforts of the Bluffton High School junior class.
It was prom night, and the host class created its tropical paradise for seniors and guests in Marbeck Center at Bluffton University.
Because of predicted rain, the traditional promenade, which is just as much fun as prom itself, took prom attendees through Founders Hall to Marbeck. And, inside Founders, all the prom parents and friends had front row seats to view this year's prom styles.
Bluffton University student, Becky Boban, an art and writing major from Madison, Ohio, was recently honored with her poem “Built on the Breeze.”
The poem was accepted for publication by “The Merrimack Review,” a literary magazine showcasing work from undergraduate and graduate students, with a rapid and rare turnaround time.
Despite the accolade, Boban remains humble about her work. “It’s just one poem, but it’s a start. Maybe someone will look at it and be like ‘oh, that was a nice poem.’”
