In the first quarter of 2017 Icon viewership increased by more than 11 percent of the same period in 2016.

Here’s Bluffton Icon’s viewer stats according to Google Analytics based on the reporting period of Jan. 1 to April 30, comparing 2016 to 2017.

Part of Bluffton University May Day activities

Bluffton University will present “Sondheim on Sondheim” as the May Day musical on Friday and Saturday, May 5 and 6 at 7:30 p.m. each evening in Yoder Recital Hall.
 
The engaging contemporary musical revue features both well-known and seldom heard songs of Stephen Sondheim from “Into the Woods,” “Company,” “Passion,” “Sunday in the Park with George,” “A Little Night Music” and more.
 

Owen Darrel Yoder, 94, died on May 3, 2017 at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. Darrel was the eldest child born on March 5, 1923, in Nappanee, Indiana, to the late Owen J. and Verda (Yoder) Yoder.

Darrel graduated from Topeka High School, in Topeka, Indiana. He attended Bluffton College and after serving in the armed forces graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

May is a busy month at the Bluffton Public Library. Here's a list of events planned:

Children’s Book Week is May 1-6. Celebrate by checking out a children’s book from our many sections of children’s materials. Take on the “Reading without Walls” Challenge.

Dulcimers @ the Library continues into May at its regular meeting time, Tuesdays at 1 p.m. Meetings are in the library’s lower level.

Sheena and Tom Dotson of Tommy’s Tires, expanded their businesses recently by purchasing a long-established Bluffton vehicle repair business, Leiber Garage.

“We want Leiber’s to be part of our family of businesses as we continue to invest in the Bluffton community,” said Tom Dotson. “This purchase adds to our total company business making us a one-stop shop.”
