Max Rodabaugh, 86, died April 20, 2017, at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton. Max was born Nov. 6, 1930, in Hancock County, Ohio to Lawrence and B. Maree (Zinn) Rodabaugh who preceded him in death. On Dec. 26, 1954, he married Judith (Moe) Rodabaugh who survives.

 Max served in the United States Army during the Korean War took an Honor Flight in June of 2015.  After his time in the military, Max worked for Stoops Freightliner as a diesel mechanic foreman and retired after 34 years of employment.  Max was also a deacon at several churches.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University baseball team jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back en route to a 7-4 victory over visiting Franklin College on a cool Friday, April 21, 2017. Franklin slipped to 17-13 and 9-8 in the Heartland Conference, while Bluffton snapped a 9-game skid and improved to 12-17 and 5-12 in the HCAC.

Bluffton Hospital’s Founding Mothers Dedication Wall

In recognition of Mother’s Day, the Blanchard Valley Health Foundation will provide an opportunity in the Bluffton community to honor or remember a mother by recognizing her as a “Founding Mother.”

A recognition wall is currently being added near maternity at The Women’s Center of Bluffton Hospital. This wall will feature “Founding Mothers” who have been acknowleged by friends and family members.

April showers  means it's time to cut the grass. T.R. Steiner has one of the largest lawns in Bluffton to keep mowed. It's Maple Crest's yard.

This year the Bluffton Senior Citizens - Bluffton Lions Club Foundation pancake and sausage breakfast has moved to the arts and crafts show weekend. The breakfast is from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, May 13, at the Senior Center, 132 N. Main St. This is the 35th annual breakfast.

The meal includes all the pancakes you can eat, whole hog sausage, applesauce and coffee, tea, milk or juice drink. Pre-sale tickets are $6 and can be purchased from any Lion’s Club member or the Bluffton Senior Center. 

Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on university campus

Bluffton University will host the annual Riley Creek Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 22, in the Sommer Center.

Open to the public, the festival will feature block-party-style events including:
• family-friendly inflatables,
• three live musical acts,
• games hosted by student organizations
• Rubber Duck Race on Riley Creek
