Royce Allen Engle, 98, died Feb. 24, 2017, at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton.

A memorial services will be held Saturday, March 4, at 11 a.m. at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton.

He was born near Abilene, Kansas, on Nov. 2, 1918, to Homer and Myrta Hildebrand Engle.

Royce graduated from Messiah Academy (high school), Grantham, Pa., in 1938.  He also graduated from Goshen College and two weeks prior to graduation, married Doris Stuckey in May of 1942. Doris died in 1994.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The third time was a charm for a Transylvania University women's basketball team that came up on the short end of both regular season meetings with the Beavers. Transy dominated the second half, 42-27, en route to a berth in the Heartland Conference title game where the Pioneers will look to take down #1 seed and tourney host Rose-Hulman, a 57-41 victor over Franklin in the first semi on Friday night.

Vivaldi's "Gloria" performed by Bluffton Univesity Chorale and Bluffton Choral Society

Bluffton University’s Masterworks performance is to be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26, in Yoder Recital Hall.

The concert will feature “Gloria” by Antonio Vivaldi. A free-will offering will be taken to help cover expenses.

The chorus is comprised of members from the Bluffton University Chorale and the Bluffton Choral Society. They will be joined by an orchestra made up of university students and community members.

The soloists are Bluffton University students: Anna Cammarn, Constance Moushon, Meghan Gibson, Mary Bender and Kimberly Meyer.

The duo The Rough & Tumble from Nashville, will perform twice in Bluffton during February, according to Wendy Chappell-Dick.

They will perform at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, in the Bluffton town hall during a Town Hall Concert Series performance.

They will also perform during brunch at The Mustard Seed, Sunday, Feb. 26. Both performances are free and open to the public.

The Rough & Tumble has been on the road since April 2015. Musicians Mallory Graham and Scott Tyler share their 16-foot camper with dogs Butter and Pud as they tour nationwide. 

March 7 program at library is first step

Gardeners of the Bluffton Pandora Area will hold a program on seed starting at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 7, in the lower level of the Bluffton Public Library.

That program is open to the public.
