Richard Lee Cookson, 69, of Katy, Texas, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016.
Lee was born in Bluffton, Ohio, on April 16, 1947. He was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Bluffton High School in 1965, where he was senior class president and a defensive back on the Pirates football team.
Lee graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio with a degree in history, and was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society.
Della Amanda Pifer Allen Honse, 97, of Pharr, Texas, and formerly of Bluffton died Dec. 28, 2016, at her residence in Pharr, Texas.
Della was born Aug. 15, 1919, to the late Ami G. and Verna (Pifer) Pifer of Bluffton, Ohio. Mrs. Honse graduated from Bluffton High School, and The University of Findlay.
Della served in the Marine Corps from 1944 to 1946. Boot training was at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, then she was stationed at El Toro Marine Air Station in Irvine, California.

Here’s Roman Matthew Boninsegna. He’s asleep in the arms of his mother, Melania. Behind mom is Dave, his father. The Boninsegna family is from Ottawa.
Roman was born at 8:48 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 3, with Dr. Desrene Brown, M.D., the attending physician. Roman entered the world at 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 19 inches.
He is joined at home by a sister, Carmella, 1, and a brother, Brantley, 2.

Community Vacation Bible School took place at Emmanuel United Church of Christ. Over 120 youths attended. Here’s a view of a game underway.
