R Coop, 2168 Road R, Bluffton, is reopening Friday, Sept. 30, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 1, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Shoppers will find an offering unique repurposed fall, Halloween, Christmas and OSU/Michigan items. There will also be outdoor fall decore available. Check out R Coop on Facebook.
Hours through the end of October are Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Bluffton Schools will hold a district-wide open house on Monday evening, Sept. 26. 
• The elementary school will be open from 6 – 7 p.m.,
• The middle school from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.,
• The high school from 7 – 8 p.m.

Several community organizations will have booths set-up in the elementary gymnasium and information will be available on ways to provide support to the school and community.

Kevin Haver, Director of Johnny Appleseed Parks, was guest speaker at the Sept. 6 Bluffton Lions Club meeting.

Over a dozen parks that cover 1,200 acres are involved with this Appleseed system.

Parks offer fishing, boating, swimming, camping, playgrounds, nature programs, concerts, living history, apple/maple syrup festivals, music groups and more.

The Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District was created in June 1972. The park corporation is a non-profit organization and accepts planned giving programs.

Bluffton High School girls' soccer team traveled to Upper Sandusky for a 5 p.m. game on the Rams home field. 

Bluffton took the lead in  the first half with a goal by Senior Sarah Theisen, which turned out to be the only goal of the match.  Final score 1-0. 

The Lady Pirates travel to Paulding on Thursday for a game at 5:00pm.

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Otterbein found the home turf to its liking as the Cardinals improved to 4-1-1 with a 4-0 victory over the Bluffton University women's soccer team. The Beavers fell to 0-4 following the road setback under the lights on Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Ruthella (Romick) Baier, 84, of Lima and formerly of Ada, died on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at 10:35 a.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

She was born on May 20, 1932, the daughter of Arlie and Esta (Van Houten) Romick who preceded her in death.
