FROM ADA ICON -There's a new paint job on a neighboring village water tower and it promotes something unique to that community.
Here's the Ada water tower looks, repainted this summer with the Wilson and NFL logos. The logos face toward the football factory so that all who enter the building will see them.
In the photo below:
Tim Reilly, a producer for Banner Collective in Chicago, videotapes the Wilson/NFL logos which are being painted on a water tower in Ada earlier this week.
This time of year Bluffton goldfinches feast on coneflower seeds (Echinacea), like this one in the Icon's backyard. There's probably one checking your flowers out right now.
Last month’s Ride to Remember bicycle ride, with over 150 riders, generated approximately $3,000 for the Bluffton Pedestrian and Bike Pathway project.
That total was announced at this year’s Aug. 22 wrap-up meeting of the ride planning committee.
This year’s ride increased in riders and amount donated as last year’s first-ever ride had 101 participants, generating approximately $1,600 to the pathway project.
The Bluffton Area Food Pantry has distributed food and other essential supplies to approximately 50 area families this summer.
The panty’s supplies are running a bit low and could use some reinforcements, according to Ed Yeager, board president of the Bluffton Community Assistance Program.
Item may be delivered to St. John’s United Church of Christ. The next distribution day is Saturday, Sept. 17.
Music of all kinds will fill the air on Saturday, Sept. 10, as The Quarry Farm Nature Preserve & Conservation Farm hosts the organization's annual Jam from 6 to 10 p.m.
Whether you play an instrument like a virtuoso or just like to pretend, sing along or listen, people of all ages are invited to spend a sweet late summer evening with music under the outdoor pavilion's big red roof, alongside the calls from the nature preserve. The event is free and open to the public, but donations are welcome as they support The Quarry Farm's educational programming.
