Bluffton's mosquito patrol launches the 2016 season on Wednesday evening, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator.

"Now that mosquito activity has been observed in various places throughout the village, the service separtment will begin spraying for mosquitos on Wednesday, June 8," he told The Icon.

Mehaffie said that the spraying will tbegin around dusk on Wednesdays as necessary with Thursdays being the alternate day if weather does not permit the spraying.

The Bluffton Community Swimming Pool is open for the summer. Here’s all the information you need, according to Jennie Wilson, pool manager.

Heater and shade update:
The new heater and shade area should be installed in the next two weeks.

 Noon to 8 p.m., Mondays through Fridays

Pandora town-wide garage sales, sponsored by Pandora Friends of the Library, take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 9-10-11. Over 40 garage sales are scheduled. Lists/maps are available at Pandora businesses.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Two-time All-American Terrill Webb (Kenton, Ohio) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Athlete of the Year following her performances in indoor track and field and outdoor track and field during the 2015-16 school year.

The junior earned NCAA Division III indoor and outdoor track and field All-American accolades in the pole vault during her junior campaign. 

Bluffton Relay for Life will hold an evening 5K Run/Walk during the relay on Friday, June 24.

The event is at Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road. Registration starts at 9:30 p.m. and the race/walk is at 10:30 p.m. A race registration and waiver form are attachments at the bottom of this story.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - All-American Ryan Aelker (New Bavaria, Ohio/Holgate) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Male Athlete of the Year following a senior season in which the senior defensive end was named the HCAC Defensive Most Valuable Player.
