Jonathan Fortman and Zachary Fortman, sons of John and Catherine Fortman, recently purchased the Ottawa and Bluffton businesses of Fortman Insurance Services.
Company founders, John and Catherine, will continue to stay active in the business.
John Fortman started Fortman Insurance Services in November 1978, and his wife, Catherine, joined him in 1982.
Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton, offers several programs for youth this winter. Here’s the class offerings: • Rookie Sports – now to Feb. 16 from 4:15 to 5 p.m.
For youth ages 4 to 6. Youth will experience the basics of many sports.
• Tiny Tots - Fridays now through Feb. 19, from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
For youth 18 months to 5. Youth will have fun working on balance, coordination, and social skills. New and fun activities introduced each week.
The Peace, Pies and Prophets tour is coming to Bluffton University at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, in Yoder Recital Hall.
Since March 2012, Ted & Company has been collaborating with Christian Peacemaker Teams and local peacemakers to raise funds and awareness for peace. The evening includes the show, “I’d Like to Buy an Enemy,” a satire that explores peace, justice and the American way.
The apprentices of Plumbers, Pipefitters & Service Technicians Local Union 776 along with a number of volunteers in the community are helping to update a Lima area home for the family of a child with cancer.
10-year-old Brandon Schindler was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndromes or MDS in March 2014. Brandon has undergone a bone marrow transplant and is now receiving treatments to stop his body from rejecting the new cells. Before he can return home from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital later this year, his Shawnee Township home must be germ free.
