Tell me some of your favorite memories of growing up in Bluffton (school, teachers, friends, etc.)
Many teachers in both middle and high school were incredibly supportive; they gave me the educational foundation that carried me through college and beyond. When we lived on Main Street, I remember walking to the Matter's farm for very fresh eggs...and watching their sheep and pigs from our backyard. The Swiss Farm, Marbeck Center, and the Dari Freeze also stand out..
An exhibition of ceramics by Mark Nafziger, resident potter at Archbold's Sauder Museum and Craft Village, will open Sunday, Aug. 29, in the Grace Albrecht Gallery of Bluffton University's Sauder Visual Arts Center.
The exhibit, which continues through Sept. 27, is free and open to the public, as are a reception with Nafziger from 4-6 p.m. Sept. 17 and a studio demonstration by the artist from 2-4 p.m. Sept. 27. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Dr. Crystal Sellers has been singing gospel music practically her whole life, starting at the church founded by her grandfather in her native Columbus.
So it shouldn't be too surprising that she is now organizing a gospel choir in Bluffton, where she has joined the Bluffton University faculty as an assistant professor of music.
