Senior artists and graphic designers from Bluffton University will showcase their most prominent work in their combined exhibit titled “6:1 Six Artists, One Show.”
Rebecca Baden, Bowling Green, Ohio; Becky Boban, Madison, Ohio; Brista Drake, Richwood, Ohio; Cara Echols, New Bremen, Ohio; Emily Griffioen, Belmond, Iowa; and Elizabeth Luersman, Fort Jennings, Ohio; will have work on display. The exhibit opens March 11 and runs through March 24 in the Grace Albrecht Gallery of Bluffton University’s Sauder Visual Arts Center.
FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Bluffton University baseball team knocked off Rivier University 10-3 on Sunday, March 3, in their second game of the Gene Cusic Classic. Bluffton improved to 2-0 on the season, while Rivier stands 0-2.
Bluffton University, Dr. Melissa Friesen, professor of theatre and communication, on March 1 convinced a group of faculty, staff and students nearly ready to pack up for the day to instead get outside of their comfort zones and engage in theatre.
Friesen presented a piece of forum theatre around the issues of race and education. She invited attendees to participate as actors and provide feedback. This type of community-based theatre has a purpose that extends well beyond entertainment, its intent is to engage and spark change.
Bluffton American Legion Post 382 will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National American Legion, with a gathering and dinner on Saturday, March 16.
Robert “Bob” Schmitt, Department Commander Ohio American Legion is the speaker.
Bluffton's World War I veterans applied to the American Legion in 1919 and received their charter on March 20, 1920.
Nearly a half-dozen police log entries in Feburary relate to drug possesion. One arrest was made, which involved the police canine unit. The February report follows.

Officers responded to a non-injury traffic crash near the intersection of South Main Street and Cherry Street. A Delphos resident was issued a citation for reasonable control. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
