And, BHS Deandre Nassar (195) Wrestler of The Year

Allen East scored a total of 296.5 points to take the 2019 Northwest Conference Wrestling Championship held at Allen East High School. 

Bluffton finished second in the tournament with 270 points while Columbus Grove took third at 216 points.  Repeating as conference champs for the third year in a row, Allen East's title was their eight overall NWC wrestling championship.

Bluffton senior Deandre Nassar (195) was named Wrestler of The Year in the NWC as he became a 4-time champion in the event.  Jeff Kleman of Bluffton  was voted by his peers as NWC Coach of The Year.

Alice M. Winegardner, 88, died on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at 10:30 p.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.

She was born on Sept. 12,1930, in Van Wert to the late Lloyd and Pearl (Beam) Haviland. On April 23, 1950, Alice married Kenneth O. Winegardner and they were one month shy of their 60th wedding anniversary when he preceded her in death on March 23, 2010.

Alice worked at Adon Studio, Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance Company in Lima, The Fertilizer Plant in Harrod, did  housework and home health care.

And if your occupation requires you to work outdoors, you may face a greater risk for certain cold-related problems, such as hypothermia (low body temperature) and frostbite (freezing of the skin).

Women often avoid discussing accidental bowel leakage, also known as fecal incontinence. The subject often seems taboo. Women may think they are the only ones suffering with it and become too embarrassed to talk about it.

Frank J. Burkholder, 76, died on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, at 8 p.m., at his residence in Alger. 

He was born on Jan. 15, 1943, in Bluffton, Ohio, to the late Sidney and Cleora (Amstutz) Burkholder. On April 11, 1968, Frank married Terrall A. Lambert and she survives in Alger.

Frank was a farmer.  He was a U.S. Army veteran. 

Bluffton High School senior wrestler, Deandre Nassar, won his 150th career match on Feb. 14. With the win he joins only three other Pirates who have won that many wrestling matches. Read the story below for the details, or click here. (Amy Mortimer photo)
