How two Bluffton Relay teams support the cause
Note: Bluffton's Relay for Life is Friday and Saturday, June 24-25 at the Bluffton University football field.
Two American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Bluffton teams are passionate about the fight to end cancer.
Team One - DTR has participated in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Bluffton since 2002 and has resulted in over $50,000 in contributions from our associates to the American Cancer Society for cancer research.
Throughout the year, DTR holds various fundraisers such as daffodil sales, jeans day, a bake sale and various other fundraising activities to show our support for the mission.
Over 75 DTR associates support the cause, as well by walking at Bluffton University's Salzman Stadium each June.
Team Two - Bluffton High School Track and Cross Country is new to participating in the local Relay For Life. Captain Hannah Chappell-Dick said, "I was interested in having a Relay For Life team of the track and cross country teams as a way for our team to bond by working together for other people.
"Relays, like the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, are the main team-oriented track event and are a great way to combine individual strengths to produce something greater than themselves.
"We are excited to be taking part in this new experience, and would love any contributions to our cause. If you would like to volunteer your time or have any questions, contact me."
Hannah Chappell-Dick ia at 419-303-9606 or donations may be made payable to the American Cancer Society to BHS Relay For Life, PO Box 23, Bluffton, OH 45817.

Several attachments at the bottom of this story offer addition information on Bluffton's weekend event.
The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with nearly a century of experience to save lives and end suffering from cancer. We save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early; helping people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking discovery; and by fighting back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join the fight.
