Hilty Preschool and Child Care Center receives Two-Star Step Up to Quality Award
Hilty Preschool and Child Care Center, Pandora, recently received a Two-Star Step Up to Quality Award from the State of Ohio, according to Heather Sanchez, director.
Step Up to Quality is Ohio’s rating system for learning and development programs.
A Two-Star program offers:
• A quality program that exceeds basic state licensing requirements
• Staff who complete 20 hours of specialized training every two years
• Weekly lesson plans include all areas of development and incorporate the Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards
• Daily experiences in language and literacy, math, science, creative arts and physical motor
• Staff who participate in an annual classroom self-assessment process to identify the quality of the classroom environment
Sanchez said, “Children have approximately 1,892 days from the day they are born until they enter kindergarten. What happens on this journey lays the foundation for success in school and life.”
She added that Hilty Preschool and Child Care Center is dedicated to giving children experiences that contribute to their physical, emotional, social and cognitive needs. These early experiences encourage a lifetime love of learning.
The center currently has 90 children ages six weeks through age 8. The school-age children are in a before- and after-school program.
The center currently has vacancies in its toddler and pre-school classes. Contact the center at 419-384-3220 for more details on enrolling children.
