June is busting out all over with Bluffton events - here info about the Relay for Hope
Lots of June events are on Bluffton’s calendar. One is the area relay for hope. Watch the Icon for details on several other June events taking place in Bluffton.
Here are the details.
The Bluffton Area Relay for Hope takes place Friday and Saturday, June 24-25, at Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, according to Lynda Best, chairperson.
According to Best, “This year’s theme is ‘Courage.’ Relay Courage shirts are available for purchase at Village Cut & Curl and Polished. All proceeds from the event go to Bluffton Relay for Life.

This year’s event begins at 4:30 p.m. on June 24 with a drive-thru or dine in chicken barbecue. It continues with events all evening and into the early morning hours of June 25. It concludes at 8 a.m. on June 25.
New to this year’s Relay is a 5K glow run. It takes place at 10:30 p.m. on Friday with its start and finish at BFR.
Registration forms are online at www.ative.com, or persons may contact Best at [email protected]. Entry forms are also available at Village Cut & Curl.
Several other events take place and those include:
• Silent and live auction
• Games for youth
• Survivors’ meal and lap
• Pie-judging contest
• Entertainment
Several early morning activities include, from midnight to 8 a.m.: pizzas, hat or wild hairdo lap, scavenger hunt, dance around the track, crazy socks lap and an early morning breakfast.
