At Shannon Theatre, Saturday at 10 a.m., doors open 9:30 a.m.

Riley Creek Arbor will present a free family-friendly movie at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at the Shannon Theatre, according to Gary Reese of Faith Investment Services and the Riley Creek Arbor.

The free movie is "Captain Marvel." In addition to free admission, there will be free popcorn and drinks for all to attend. This is is a 2D version of the film.

Tuesday event sponsored by Transition Bluffton and University Sustainability Club

Transition Bluffton and the Bluffton University Sustainability Club will present a panel discussion on responding to global climate change at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, in the Kreider Room  of Marbeck Center on the Bluffton University campus. It is open to the public at no charge.

The evening will begin with three panelists sharing their intellectual, emotional, and spiritual responses to the reality of global climate change. 

Bluffton pathway board met on March 7 in a discussion of plans for the next pathway project. It involves continuing north on Bentley Road from Elm Street to Richland Drive. The Bluffton Powerlifters attended the meet in Kenton Ridge on March 2. Bluffton had six individual winners. Results follow:

Nebraska Montgomery -
80 Bench, 210 Deadlift - 4th in her class

Ivy Augsburger -
90 Bench, 240 Deadlift - 3rd place in her weight class

Shyanne Mortimer -
140 Bench, 325 Deadlift - 1st place in her weight class

Morgan Nusbaum -
135 Bench, 310 Deadlift - 2nd place in her weight class

Saturday dinner and program in the town hall

Bluffton American Legion Post 382 will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National American Legion, with a gathering and dinner on Saturday, March 16.

Robert “Bob” Schmitt, Department Commander Ohio American Legion is the speaker.

 According to Dennis Morrison, Bluffton's World War I veterans applied to the American Legion in 1919 and received their charter on March 20, 1920.
