Telling difficult stories: reporting on sexual violence

Marie Osborne, anchor and reporter for WJR Radio in Detroit, will share “Telling Difficult Stories: Reporting on Sexual Violence,” during Bluffton University’s annual Women’s Studies Forum on Tuesday, March 19. The lecture begins at 11 a.m. in Bluffton’s Yoder Recital.

During the presentation, Osborne will describe the challenges of investigating stories off the beaten track such as her reporting on the sexual assault of female inmates in Michigan prisons.

(COLUMBUS) – Deandre Nassar completed what he set out to do. 

The Bluffton High School senior standout grappler capped his career with a state championship and did not lose a single match the entire season. 

Nassar closed the 2018-19 campaign with a 48-0 record and now has added his name to the long history of Pirate wrestlers who have also earned state championships in years past.

Was active in many community organizations

Bluffton businessman Richard "Dick" H. Jordan, 84, died March 8, 2019, at his daughter's residence in Bluffton. Dick was born May 17, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio, to the late James, Sr,. and Lenore (Willauer) Jordan. On Sept. 17, 1956, he married Mary Ann Fleming Jordan who survives.

Dick graduated from Bluffton High School in 1951. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1956 - 1958 and later graduated from Bluffton College in 1984.

Marilyn Augsburger, 77, died on March 8, 2019, at her residence in Pandora.  Arrangements are pending at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.
