Because of COVID-19 Jefferson Street phase 2 won't take place in 2020
Two 2020 Bluffton village projects became victims of COVID-19 on Monday.
Bluffton council placed its Jefferson Street Phase 2 project, scheduled for 2020, on hold, and the council slashed its 2020 street program nearly in half. The action is due to anticipate lower village and state revenues this year.
Council’s finance committee, meeting on April 16, by consensus, agreed to put off the Jefferson Street reconstruction program due to notification from the State of Ohio that all funding is frozen and the uncertainty of village revenues due to state mandated stay at home orders.
The original 2020 street program had a $327,939 price tag. That program was slashed in half and is now a $157,949 expenditure. The before and after street program list is attached at the bottom of this story.
