Health department reports covid-19 outbreak in Delphos
Health officials from Allen County Public Health are notifying the public about a coronavirus outbreak in the Delphos.
Eighteen people who attended the Delphos Eagles since Sept. 22, have tested positive for the coronavirus. There are 8 hospitalizations associated with this outbreak. The outbreak is not related to one particular event, rather a variety of activities over several days.
Activities of those who have tested positive include dining and socializing in close contact with others. ACPH has been working with the Delphos Eagles to reduce the risk of further spread of COVID-19.
This is an on-going investigation, and Allen County Public Health officials are working through the case notifications as quickly as possible. In an abundance of caution public notification is necessary to reach individuals who may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.
Officials are advising that people who have been to this establishment since Sept. 22 to monitor themselves for symptoms and limit contact with others. \
Symptoms of mild illness include fever or chills, cough, fatigue, headache and muscle aches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat and congestion or runny nose. Some individuals can experience mild nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. If you do start showing symptoms you might have COVID-19 and should contact your medical provider.
Most people have a mild illness and can recover at home, but severe symptoms require immediate medical attention. These include trouble breathing, pain or pressure in chest, confusion, inability to stay alert and bluish lips.
ACPH officials ask individuals that have been identified as a contact associated with this outbreak to please follow all quarantine guidelines.
