Ada’s volleyball team held our annual Dig for a Cure event earlier this month on Monday, October 6 with Pandora Gilboa.  Together, both teams raised a grand total of $2,602. 

Wilma J. Laeufer, 92, passed away on October 26, 2025, at Lima Memorial Health System. Wilma's service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

FROM BEVS ALERTS__Bluffton High School football will host Western Reserve this Friday night, Oct. 31, in the first week of the OHSAA Football Playoffs. Kick off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and the gates will open at 6:00 p.m.

This seemed like a good week to check on an old friend, Bluffton's monumental oak in Maple Grove Cemetery. With the area enjoying peak fall color, this 300+ year old specimen of white oak is lush and green. Is this tree a good candidate for Bluffton's America 250 celebrations?

Four Bluffton High School football players made 2025 All-Northwest Conference first team in voting recently conducted by the league coaches.

OCT 21 MEDIA RELEASE__Eric Frey Martin, director of constituent engagement at Mennonite Mission Network, will present "Moving at the Speed of Love: Finding Purpose in Mission and Service" during Bluffton University's Forum at 11 a.m. on Nov. 4 in Yoder Recital Hall.

Martin will explore Jesus' call to love God and our neighbors at a pace that honors relationships, encourages service, and resists the pressure of speed and efficiency.
