Bluffton University September Arts and Events Calendar

Bluffton University will host the following arts, cultural and community events in September.

Art Exhibit: "Amusings," Aug. 17-Oct 4
Gallery Open Mon.-Fri. 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Artist Talk: 1:30 p.m., Oct. 4
Grace Albrecht Gallery, Sauder Visual Arts Center, Bluffton University

MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton Lions Club members will be participating in the following activities and events during September 2026. Events with speakers are open to the public.

Sept. 1 Club meeting at 6:30 p.m., Bluffton Town Hall.  Speaker TBA.

Sept. 3-5  USA/Canada Forum in Memphis, TN.

Sept. 14-25 -  Eye Screening of school children. Contact Lion Barbara Plaugher to help with the project.

Sept. 15 - Club meeting at noon, Bluffton Town Hall.  Lunch $7.00  Speaker TBA.

Local and regional performers are preparing for Bluffton's Play Music on the Porch Day (a.k.a. PorchFest) on August 29. This worldwide movement encourages people to spend the day outdoors, visiting with neighbors while playing or listening to music.

Robert "Bob" C. Amstutz, 84, passed away August 21, 2026, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

Bob was born December 25, 1941, in Beaverdam, to Kent and Wava (Yant) Amstutz, who preceded him in death. On September 2, 1962, he married Beverly (Benroth) Amstutz, who survives.

Here are the Bluffton Pirate Varsity and JVS girls' soccer team rosters for Fall 2026. The Varsity Head Coach is Jamie Mehaffie. Assistant Coaches are Haley Hoffer, Brendon Matthews and Clara Matthews.

BELLEFONTAINE – The visiting Bluffton High School football team jumped out to a big early lead to kick off the regular season, then had to stave off a Ben Logan rally to secure a 42-28 victory on Friday, August 21.

The Pirates raced to a 28-0 lead in the second periodand never trailed despite a Raider comeback that cut the lead to seven at one point.

The Pirates answered the BL rally with 14 unanswered points to clinch the seesaw battle.

Bluffton drove 79 yards to score on their first possession.
