With their fourth straight win, the Lady Pirates improved to 7-4

ELIDA - The visiting Bluffton girls tennis team defeated Elida 3-2 Tuesday evening at the Schwinnen Courts.

With their fourth straight win, the Lady Pirates improved to 7-4.

Senior Erin Hotmire won 6-1, 6-1 at first singles to improve to 11-2 this season.

Junior Julia Smallcomb won at third singles by a 6-1, 6-4 count.

Sophomores Libby Frazier and Ellie Nickels also won in straight sets at second doubles by a 6-2, 6-1 score.

Bluffton plays Tuesday, September 17 at home vs. Kenton.

 

Taylor Schwab knocked down seven kills and served one ace

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton volleyball team swept visiting Delphos Jefferson in the Northwest Conference opener Tuesday night.

The Lady Pirates triumphed 25-21, 25-19, 25-13 to improve to 5-3 overall and 1-0 in league play. DJ fell to 2-7 and 0-1 in the NWC with the loss.

Kylie Stackhouse led the victors with 12 kills, four blocks and one ace. Taylor Schwab knocked down seven kills and served one ace. Libby Schaadt added five kills.

Dr. Clara Rimmer has joined Blanchard Valley Medical Practices. Dr. Rimmer will be a provider at Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine of Northwest Ohio, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System. She provides a variety of pulmonary care services, specializing in individualized asthma therapy and tobacco cessation.

Dr. Rimmer received her medical degree from Albany Medical College  and her medical degree from Albany Medical College. She completed her internal medicine residency and pulmonary & critical care fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

There are big birds, and then there are huge birds. This bird falls into the huge category. The swan likes to float on a pond at 1400 Orange Township Road 29. Based upon the building in the background, you can see by size of this bird that we are not exaggerating.
