The Bluffton University men's basketball team opened its 2011-12 campaign with a thrilling 79-76 OT win over Webster University on Saturday, Nov. 19. The Beavers stand 1-0 after knocking off a Webster squad that went 20-7 a season ago.
Margaret Anna Groman Elsass, 83, died at 2:27 p.m. Nov. 18, 2011, at her residence.
She was born April 12, 1928, in Tiffin to Oliver J. and Esther M. Gromann Groman, who preceded her in death. On June 29, 1965, she married Walter Samuel Elsass, who died Sept. 16, 1974.
A special Thanksgiving Day service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jenera, at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 24.
Pastor Jeff Bolwerk will conduct the service and deliver the message. The choir will sing "A Servant in Your Heavenly House" and the church will be decorated with harvest items.

The Rochester College Warriors battled back from a 19-point first half deficit to upend the Beavers, 66-61, in the 2011 Bluffton Tip-Off Tournament finals on Saturday, Nov. 19. Bluffton dropped to 1-1 on the season, while Rochester improved to 6-4 overall.
