Carole Elchert, a writer, photographer and adjunct faculty member in communication at the University of Findlay, will present "Converging In-Sight" at a Bluffton University Forum on Tuesday, Nov. 22. Free and open to the public, the event will begin at 11 a.m. in Yoder Recital Hall.

Elchert will describe the significance of the themes in her photography, including return, remembering, renewal and re-visioning. Using images from photographic pilgrimages to four continents, she will discuss seeing and perception and the camera as an artistic tool, among other topics.

Nov. 11 marks the conclusion of World War I, also known as The Great War. The late Rolland Stratton told the following short story to me. It is also published in my book "A Good Place To Miss: Bluffton Stories 1900-1975."

Here's the story in Rolland's own words:

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio will will honor veterans who are residents at both Bluffton campuses with a ceremony at 1:30 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 11.

The ceremony is presented by the Bluffton American Legion Post #382. The Mennonite Memorial Home ceremony will be held in the chapel and Maple Crest ceremony in the Patio Room.
