A novel destination

Stop in at the Bluffton Public Library this summer and you may end up at a "novel" destination. Here's a part of the library's show case exhibit.

If you've ever wondered what it takes to put on a Bluffton event, read on: It takes volunteers. Lots of them. It also takes sponsors. Lots of them, too.

Bob Amstutz of the Bluffton Lions provide the following details of what exactly is needed to put on the the 44th Festival of Wheels and Cruise-in.

Ten Thousand Villages offers a style statement piece from the artisans of Tara Projects, a pioneering fair trade organization in India, during July, according to Aphaphanh Nussbaum, manager.

Check out the zipper pendant necklaces formed from recycled zippers. Ten Thousand Villages, 115 S. Main St., is open Mondays to Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays, 1 to 5 p.m.; and Fridays and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bluffton's July flower

It's early July. In Bluffton that means that lots of white-petaled flowers with yellow faces are in bloom. They are Shasta daisies.
