Bluffton University is offering a graduate-level course which will consider the purpose of education in the United States and the ways it has changed over time. The class will run Jan. 12–March 4, 2022. 

Near the end of the fall 2021 sports season, this sign celebrating state champions from Bluffton High School was installed on College Avenue near the tennis courts, football field and Ricky Matter Strength and Fitness Center.

The Bluffton University women's basketball team dropped a 54-51 decision to Ohio Wesleyan on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021. The Battling Bishops improved to 4-2 on the season, while Bluffton slipped to 2-2.

The home team went on a 7-2 run that was ignited by an old-fashioned three-point play from Brianna Gillig (New Riegel) with 6:34 to play, but OWU finished the game on a 9-0 run over the final 5:08 en route to their 54-51 victory that left the Sommer Center faithful stunned.

The Bluffton University men's basketball team downed Kalamazoo for its second straight victory in the Sommer Center on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021. Bluffton improved to 2-3 on the season, while the Hornets also stand 2-3 following their loss.
