Want to try your hand at basket weaving? Bluffton Public Library will host a basket weaving class as part of the “DIG in DIY” Adult Summer Program Series. From 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, instructor Teresa Margraf will teach participants how to make a multi-purpose, square basket with a handle.
All necessary weaving supplies and tools will be provided. A choice of two colors will be available to weave into the pattern of the basket.
Bluffton Public Library is accepting teen volunteer applications for its “Dig Into Reading” summer reading program. Ages 12 through 18 may apply. Applications are due by May 15 and parental permission is required for minors. Volunteers must attend a one-hour orientation session on May 20 at 6:30 p.m. or May 23 at 3:30 p.m. Light snacks will be provided following orientation.
The Ohio Library Council (OLC) presented the Bluffton Public Library with an award for Outstanding Program at the April 12 OLC Northwest Chapter Conference in Toledo. Cindi Chasse and Melanie Clawson accepted the award on behalf of the library.
Cary Grant returns to the Bluffton Public Library on Thursday, April 4.
His return is at 1 p.m. in the showing of the classic film “My Favorite Wife.” It’s the second of a three-part Carey Grant classic film festival sponsored by the library. The final movie in the series is May 2 with “Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House.”
