Mark your calendars! Our annual Santa’s Fire Truck is back on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m.! Celebrate the holiday season with the Bluffton Fire Department and meet Santa, too! No registration is necessary, so bring the whole family to listen to a holiday themed storytime led by the Bluffton Fire Department, and then make crafts and get pictures with Santa afterwards. This program is sure to be well attended!
It's a busy month at the Bluffton Public Library in December. Here's the program highlights:
Playgroup program continues at 10 a.m. on Fridays, Dec. 1, 8, 22, and 29. Make a play date and the library will provide the space and toys. There is no playgroup on Dec. 15.
Holiday Movies in the Stacks take place on Fridays, Dec. 1, 8, 22, and 29 at 3:30 p.m. Popcorn and drinks are provided and all movies are rated G or PG. Movies will be announced on the library's social media.
The library will host a free Mobile Health Clinic provided by ONU HealthWise on Nov. 15 from 3 to 5 p.m. on the lower level of the library.
What is ONU Healthwise? This program is sponsored by Ohio Northern University and employs health care providers to provide the local community with knowledge and resources to address health related concerns and to improve your health.
Cooking for a Change, a program through Lima Senior High School and the Apollo Culinary Arts Department will be hosting an event, Healthy Meals on a Budget, on Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. They will focus on how to prepare nutritious meals on a limited budget and will include a demonstration of a budget friendly one-dish meal and samples.

If you like silent auctions better hurry to the Bluffton Public Library before Nov. 22.
This year's holiday gift silent auction opened on Nov. 1. Each item features a "buy now price" as well as a starting bid. Anonymous bidding is available upon request, according to the library staff.
Among this year's auction items include gift baskets, music lessons, art and dance lessons, tickets to various museums and theatres, whitewater rafting and skiing/tubing.
Bluffton Public Library hosts Bluffton author, Dave Essinger, as he talks about his new novel "Running Out," at 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 2, in the library.
Advance registration is requested and copies of the book will be for sale during the program at $12 each.
Here's a one sentence story plot line: "When two elite runners are stranded with their child in the Canadian wilderness, one of them laces up his trail shoes."
Essinger is a runner. He is teaches creative writing at the University of Findlay. His novel was released in June.
