Bluffton Public Library is ready for the eclipse of our lifetime.

The big event of the summer is from 1:01 to 3:50 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 21.

John George, Bluffton High School chemistry teacher, will be on site, ready to answer questions and offer guidance as the eclipse happens.

Advance registration is required and all participaants must wear the special eclipse viewing glasses that will be provided.

And as a warm-up to the eclipse at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 15, program for all ages on the solar system is planned in the library's lower level.

ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED - ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST WEAR THE SPECIAL ECLIPSE VIEWING GLASSES THAT WILL BE PROVIDED AUG. 21 AT NO COST FOR UP TO 200 REGISTRANTS WHO ATTEND THE PROGRAM! 

Our Solar System is a program for all ages on Aug. 15 at 10:30 a.m. in the lower level of the library. Mr. George will be sharing how our solar system works through a variety of fun, interactive learning experiences. Please register soon - space is limited.

This program is designed for age 4th grade through adult.  Younger children may register, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Library program on Aug. 17 focus on evidence and eye-witness reports

Bluffton Public Library will host a program led by the Southeastern Ohio Society for Bigfoot Investigation (SOSBI) on Thursday, Aug. 17 at 6 p.m.

This is the second time the library has invited the society to speak in their facilities, with the 2015 program reaching over 100 audience members.

Registrants will listen to a lecture, including accounts of experiences in the woods, and may take a look at SOSBI’s display items and enjoy refreshments provided by the library.

Book discussion group, dulcimers, playgroup, si-fi writers

Several programs of interest to a wide audiences takes place this week at Bluffton Public Library.

Dulcimers @ the Library play at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The musicians meet in the Richland Room in the library’s lower level.

The Adult Book Discussion group will meet at noon on Wednesday, and discuss "We are Called to Rise," by Laura McBride. This monthly discussion group is always looking for new members, but registration is requested.

Need more time to read? The group will discuss "A Man Called Ove," by Frederik Backman on Sept. 6.
