Vocalist Ashley Musgrave will present her Bluffton University senior recital at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 26, in Yoder Recital Hall. The recital is free and open to the public; a reception will follow in the lobby.
Musgrave is a mezzo-soprano from Ada, Ohio. Her program includes her own composition, “A Journey to the Unknown,” accompanied by a brass quartet of Bluffton students. Pianist Ana Yoder Coulter will also provide accompaniment during the recital.
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University presented its top athletics awards April 14 to all-conference performers in football and softball.
Ryan Leopold of Ottawa, Ohio, accepted the A.C. Burcky Award as senior male athlete of the year, while Jessica Kuzara of Flat Rock, Mich., won the Kathryn E. Little Award as outstanding senior female athlete. Both student-athletes have double majors—Leopold in strength and conditioning and exercise science, and Kuzara in elementary education and special education.

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Bluffton University baseball team struggled out of the gate and never recovered as they dropped their matchup with Defiance College, 6-4, on Tuesday, April 14. The loss knocked the Beavers out of the three-way first place tie in the HCAC, dropping them to 10-6 in the conference and 17-11 overall. Defiance improved to 12-11 and 7-8 in the HCAC, salvaging one victory in the season series.
Iraqi Refugee Artists, an exhibit of over three dozen paintings will be on exhibit at Bluffton University April 15 to May 3.
The exhibit features the work of a dozen Iraqi artists who were trained in Baghdad and had active professional careers until the violence following the 2003 invasion forced them to flee.
The paintings will be on exhibit at the Sauder Visual Arts Center daily from 1 to 3 p.m. and will be on sale by silent auction with final bids on Sunday, May 3, at noon.
