Dr. Karen A. Longman, program director and professor of doctoral higher education at Azusa (Calif.) Pacific University, will be Bluffton University’s commencement speaker on Sunday, May 3. The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. in the Sommer Center for Health and Fitness Education.
At Azusa Pacific, Longman directs a program that serves just over 100 doctoral students from around the world. She teaches courses including Higher Education Administration, Introduction to U.S. Higher Education, Policy and Politics, and Higher Education Ethics.
CINCINNATI, Ohio - A Joel Scudder triple with just eight ticks on the clock sent HCAC-leading Mount St. Joseph to a come-from-behind 57-55 win over Bluffton University on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015. The Beavers slipped to 11-11 overall and 7-8 in the Heartland Conference, while MSJ stayed atop the HCAC at 12-3 in the conference and 17-5 overall.
Bluffton University’s Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band will present the university’s annual winter instrumental concert at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, in Yoder Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public; a free-will offering will be taken during intermission for music scholarships.
Dr. Adam Schattschneider, professor of music, directs the Jazz Ensemble, while Dr. Roy Couch, assistant professor of music, conducts the Concert Band. Paul Baransy, an adjunct trumpet instructor, will serve as guest director of the Jazz Ensemble for its rendition of his “Walkin’ to Gilboa.”
