HANOVER, Ind. - With the cancellation of the Dick Small Invitational at Defiance College due to sub-freezing temperatures, the Bluffton University Beavers traveled to Panther Country to compete in the Hanover College Track & Field Invitational on Saturday, March 28.
HANOVER, Ind. - The Bluffton University baseball team split a doubleheader with the Hanover College Panthers on Saturday, Mar. 28. The Beavers won game one, 12-2, but fell in 10 innings in the nightcap, 10-9. Bluffton finished the series at 13-6 and 6-1 in HCAC play while Hanover is 8-8 and 4-4 in the conference.
HANOVER, Ind. - The Bluffton University baseball team built an early 6-0 lead and withstood a Panther rally that saw Hanover knot the score at six after six innings but the Beavers responded with three late tallies for a 9-6 win on Friday, March 27, 2015. Bluffton stays perfect atop the HCAC at 5-0 (12-5 overall), while host Hanover dipped to 7-7 and 3-3 in the conference.
The “contact zone,” as defined by Kate Spike, will never be confused with the comfort zone where many people like to spend their time.
The first zone is where humans “brush up against each other,” whether in language, literacy or culture, as well as geographically, she said in Bluffton University’s annual Civic Engagement Forum on March 24. “It’s not a comfortable place,” the assistant professor of English added, comparing it to “burlap underwear”—something that most people would like to avoid.
