Five Bluffton University faculty and staff members recently completed the Building Cultural Competencies within Organizations certification program through Tiffin University.
The program is designed to help individuals work more effectively with people who are different from themselves and strengthen their awareness and understanding about diversity and inclusion through the lens of cultural intelligence.
Five Bluffton University nursing majors recently graduated from Northwest State Community College with their associate degrees.
Four of the students were also inducted into Alpha Delta Nu, the nursing honor society at NSCC.
As a dual-degree program, Bluffton University nursing majors must first complete their foundational nursing classes and earn their associate degrees before completing their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Bluffton.
Bluffton University faculty awarded research grants, sabbaticals
Bluffton University faculty members were recently recognized at the annual Dean’s Reception, an academic year-end event honoring faculty who have been awarded grants, sabbaticals and other scholarly endeavors.
The following faculty received summer 2021 Bluffton University Research Center grants, which provide $2,000 and up to $300 for research-related expenses:
Bluffton University continues to grow its network of Corporate Partnerships in northwest Ohio. The university has entered into three-year Corporate Partner agreements with four new Corporate Partners since January.
New Corporate Partners include:
• Mennonite Memorial Home
• Mercy Health
• SumiRiko
• Superior Credit Union
In total, 15 Corporate Partners and nine Education Partners have signed on since the spring 2020 launch.
Bluffton recently expanded its partnership program to include churches in northwest Ohio.
In The (D3FB) Huddle has named Bluffton University football player Montez Archer Jr. (Detroit, Mich./Martin Luther King) its Rookie of the Season.
The HCAC Defensive Player, Special Teams Player and Newcomer of the Year was recently honored by the In The (D3FB) Huddle podcast for his outstanding season. Members of the podcast were stunned to find out that Jr. was his name, not his class.
Sophomore Bobbi Adams (Delaware/Rutherford B. Hayes) was named Third Team All-Central Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) following the 2021 softball season.
Adams spent time behind the plate, at third base and at first as she was DP/UT honoree on the third team. It marks the second time in three years that a graduate of Rutherford B. Hayes in Delaware has been honored by the NFCA as Adams followed in the footsteps of 2020 graduate Caylin Morstadt who was named 3rd team all-region as a junior.
