Divisions open to • students • existing businesses • new businesses

Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs (BCE) is inviting participants for this fall’s Ropp Triplett Business Plan Competition, according to Eric Berdin, BCE director.

Several changes are part of this year’s competition:
• Classes are online
• Three divisions are in the competition
• The competition moved from winter to fall
• Participants will present their business plans during a catered dinner in November

Et Cetera Shop's second annual quarter week is more than nickel and dime stuff

The Et Cetera Shop, 111 S. Main St.,  held its second annual quarter week sale this past week. All clothing, excluding scarves, underwear, hats, purses and hats, cost a quarter (plus tax).

The Icon can report that the Et Cetera Shop sold 5,195 items of clothing during the week-long sale. Adult clothing was definitely the top-seller of the week, averaging over 600 items sold every day, according to Chrissy Lugibihl, store manager.

Boots for Bulldogs fund drive underway in Ada

Austin Core, owner of CoreBuilt Construction LLC and Con Basileus Holdings LLC, announced his companies will support the Ada Boots for Bulldogs project in a major way.

Don and Jodi Brauen will hold an open house for Brauen's Gourds on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 1-2. Click here for their Facebook.

The open house is at their residence, 7140 Tom Fett Road, Bluffton. Hours are:
• Saturday, Sept. 1 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Sunday, Sept. 2 - 1 to 4 p.m.

Through partnership with Cardinal Health

FROM ADA ICON - HealthWise Pharmacy is giving free multivitamins to children and adults through a partnership with Cardinal Health.

The vitamins are available at the ONU pharmacy building, Ada, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. For answers to questions about this program, call 419-772-3784.

Debra Stockford, the cake queen, opens The Frosting Studio

Viewers are invited to an open house from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 20. You may check out cake decorating albums, have refreshments and learn about decorating class options.

You can now decorate your cake and eat it, too, thanks to Debra Stockford “the cake queen.”

Stockford of Pandora will open The Frosting Studio in Tommy’s Plaza, 142 E. Jefferson St., Bluffton, with a Monday evening open house.

There she will offer cake-decorating classes for all skill levels.
