The group will determine what other project groups Bluffton residents are interested in pursuing and organize ourselves to get them started

The public is invited to join Transition Bluffton at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday,  July 21, in determining next steps toward moving Bluffton to a sustainable and resilient community well into the future. 

The conversation will begin by reviewing suggestions made at the June Transition meeting in which we watched the documentary “The Secret of Change,” which highlighted activities of Transition groups in the U.K., Canada, and the U.S.

A stream that passes through Bluffton celebrates a bicentennial of its name on Friday.  Darrell Groman provides the Icon with information about how the creek was named. He also provides lots of details of its namesake.

Trophies, plaques in 18 different vehicle classes

This sounds like fun.

A “Park in the Park” car event takes place from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, in the Ada War Memorial Park.

Kent and Dee Everhart host the event in appreciation to the Ada community for its 25 years of support of Everhart Trucking, which the couple sold earlier this year.

Car owners may register vehicles, open to all years of cars, motorcycles and trucks. Registration continues during the event until 6 p.m.

Trophies and plaques will be awarded at 6 p.m. in 18 different vehicle classes. A donation of $10 per entry is appreciated.

Riley Creek Arbor is sponsoring two  free pool admission events for the first 125 people at the Bluffton Community Pool later this month.

Here’s the plan:
Friday, July 17: noon to 8 p.m.
Saturday, July 18: 1 to 6 p.m.

Riley Creek Arbor of Gleaner Life Insurance Society regularly supports the local community through monetary and volunteer efforts. The Arbor consists of members from Bluffton, Lima and surrounding communities.

Monday and Saturday mornings and Thursday afternoons

Doubles or singles, it doesn't matter.

Bluffton Shuffleboard Club invites area residents to join the sport this summer.

No equipment is required – only you and your shoes (sorry, no sandals). Members of the club will provide instructions and equipment for persons interested in playing.

The shuffleboard court is located at the Buckeye Park, from the Spring Street entrance. 

This looks like fun. Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce plans a "Bluffton Discovery Days, Saturday, July 25, according to Paula Scott, chamber CEO.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. promotions taking place in at least 13 downtown shops. Participating businesses are listed on the flyer above.
