SEPT 29 MEDIA RELEASE__Area residents and businesses are invited to a Customer Appreciation Day celebration on Friday, October 3, from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., at Citizens National Bank, 102 S. Main Street.
Free lunch, including pulled pork, beans, salad, chips and cookies, will be served. Attendees may also enter to win a variety of door prizes.
The Bluffton Scrap Artist Quilters club will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6 at the Bluffton Senior Center. Pat Rodabaugh will speak to the group about an America 250 quilt project and how members can participate.
Bluffton Scrap Artist Quilters is a club for quilters at any level or ability, and welcomes anyone interested in helping create baby quilts for local foster kids and full size quilts for local veterans. Activities include demonstrations and quilting challenges as well as member show and tell opportunities.

SEPT 24 MEDIA RELEASE__First Mennonite Church, 101 S Jackson St, will host a free program on October 5 at 4:00 p.m. and fund-raising curry meal at 5:00 p.m.
Local resident Esther Birkey will tell stories from when she lived in Bangladesh and worked for the Fair Trade company Prokritee. Prokritee, which means “nature” in Bengali keeps tons of waste out of landfills and waterways each year, using upcycled sari fabric, eco-friendly dye and tree-free water hyacinth paper. This woman-led enterprise is dedicated to creating safe, sustainable jobs for women in Bangladesh who have often been excluded.
