ABC of Hancock County hosting eat, drink and be healthy event Sept. 10

ABC of Hancock County, the Alliance for Breast and Colon Cancer Awareness, Screening and Prevention, is holding a free event for the public called Eat, Drink and Be Healthy on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Family Center, 1800 N. Blanchard Street, Findlay.

The event will provide attendees with information about breast and colon cancer screening, as well as resources on how to receive free screenings for those who qualify. Free lunch will be provided by Texas Roadhouse.

Beyond Budgeting workshop Sept. 13 in Lima

Beyond Budgeting hosts an informative workshop, "Leaving a Love Legacy," at 9:30 a.m. or at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Shawnee Alliance Church. Lima.

During the workshop, Beth Boehr will share with participants what documents are needed and practical organizational tips so that everything can be easily located in case of an emergency.

"Life teaches us to expect the unexpected," said said. "By the end of the seminar, participants should have a greater understanding of how to prepare for the future and gain peace of mind for themselves and their families.

Peter Suter of Shannon Theatre announced that "The Help" (PG-13) is showing at the theatre from September 2 to September 8.

ONU Astronomy Club to host Supernova Night Sept. 2

The Ohio Northern University Astronomy Club invites ONU students, faculty and staff, as well as Ada and the surrounding communities, to an astronomy event at the ONU Observatory on Friday, Sept. 2, from 9-11 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

A short presentation on supernovas will take place around 9:45 p.m. A supernova is a rare event in which a star explodes. Light from the explosion rises over a week's time and then slowly fades over a period of months.

'Whose Line is it Anyway?' stars to perform at the Freed Center

Ohio Northern University's Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents "Colin and Brad: Two Man Group," featuring Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood from the hit improvisational show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?," on Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

The Ebenezer Drama Ensemble presents 10th annual dinner theatre: "We the people"

Members of the cast

Patriotic music - from America's favorite anthems to poignant and uplifting compositions - will be featured in "We the People," a patriotic musical by Pat Cook and Bill Francoeur, on Sept. 10, 11 and 17-18 at the Crossroads Ministry Center of Bluffton's Ebenezer Mennonite Church.

"This educational and inspirational musical masterpiece will leave all involved not only with a better understanding of the founding of America, but also a stronger appreciation for what makes this country unique and great today," said director Kevin Gratz.
