The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will present “Driving Miss Daisy,” a drama by Alfred Uhry, performed by the Van Wert Civic Theatre, at 8 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at The Centre, Bluffton, 601 N. Main St.
Tickets are $10 each and are available in Bluffton at Greg’s Pharmacy, Village Cut ‘n’ Curl and the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center. Tickets may also be ordered by contacting the Bluffton chamber at [email protected]. Tickets will also be available at the door the evening of the performance.
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive on Friday, Feb. 15 from 11:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. The Bloodmobile parked at the Sommer Center at Bluffton University during those hours.
Donors are encouraged to walk-in. There currently exists an urgent need for blood and all are encouraged to give.
Vocalist, Sandra Agans Krueger, will present a program featuring art songs and arias in a compelling story of love at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, in the First Presbyterian Church Sanctuary, 2330 South Main St., Findlay.
The performance, part of the 33rd Season of the First Presbyterian Church Artist Series, is free and open to the public; a free-will offering will be received.
Mezzo soprano Krueger is a recent addition to Findlay, and has quickly been embraced by the musical community.
Carlin Carpenter will hold two book signing for "Coaching Football Ain't Easy." The signings are both at Common Grounds coffee house, 101 S. Main St., Bluffton, on Friday, Feb. 15, and Saturday, Feb. 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Bluffton's Relay for Life is June 21-22 at the Bluffton University football stadium, according to Jesse Purcell, American Cancer Society representative, helping to put on the event.
The Relay has provided The Icon with all the information necessary for persons to form teams or to become sponsors.
American Cancer Society representatives will attend the Friday, Feb. 15, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast to explain the variety of options available for teams and sponsors.
