Blanchard Valley Hospital Rehab & Sports Medicine 5K July 17

Blanchard Valley Hospital Rehab & Sports Medicine is sponsoring the first "Flirt with Dirt" trail run/walk 5K on Saturday, July 17, at Riverbend Recreational Area in Findlay. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., the trail race will start at 9 a.m. and the walk will begin at 9:10 a.m.

Town Hall Concert Series features Canadian singer on June 17

The Bluffton Town Hall Concert Series will feature Bryan Moyer-Suderman performing at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 17, in the town hall.

The performance is free and open to the public with donations accepted.

Moyer-Suderman started his music career as a college student in a Latin American Folk Band, and since then he has traveled many roads as a musician, touring across North America and performing around the world.

BFR offers 5K training; sports camp afternoon fun

Become a runner at BFR! A new program is offered for people interested in training to complete a 5K. BFR's Walk to Run program includes 12 weeks of preparation for the 3.1 (5K) mile goal.

Groups meet at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays for warm-up, walking/running intervals, stretching, and lots of group support.

Rhythm In Motion 2010 Dance Recital "Games" June 12

Rhythm in Motion Dance Centre, of Ada, is holding its third annual spring recital, Saturday June 12 at Ada High School. Shows are at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The theme of "Games" encompasses playground games to board games to sports. There will also be a special opening number honoring the memory of Michael Jackson.

Barbecue chicken and pull-pork dinners served June 26

Barbecue chicken and pulled pork dinners will be available during the Hometown Amerifest on Saturday, June 26. The meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Presbyterian Church lawn.

Persons may eat in or carry out. The meals are catered by Ted's Market. Tickets are available at the Bluffton Presbyterian Church (419-358-5806) or Village Cut and Curl (419) 358-7593.

Choices include either one-half chicken, cheesy potatoes, green beans and roll, or pulled-pork dinner with cheesy potatoes and a roll. Meals are $6.50 each.

Youth invited to "make a splash" at the library this summer

Area youth are invited to "Make a Splash - READ" this summer by participating in the Bluffton Public Library's Summer Reading Club from June 7 to July 30.

Youth in grades K-12 may register at the library to read for prizes as well as to take part in special programs offered throughout the summer. The goal for youth in grades K-5 is to read for 5 hours during the summer while the goal for teens in grades 6-12 is to read for 10 hours. Those who succeed will receive small prizes and several chances to win bigger prizes.
