You're invited: "Bring yourself, friends and family for an afternoon of woodland fun at The Quarry Farm Nature Preserve & Conservation Farm during the 2022 Summer Family Day on Saturday, June 25."

The rural Pandora nature preserve will be open to visitors from 1 to 4 p.m., when you can see the 1853 log cabin, learn about birds, insects and who to attract them, and visit residents of the farm animal sanctuary.

The Bluffton Town Hall Concert Series has announced 7 p.m., July 23 performances by Dreamjacket (Jesse W. Johnson of Chicago) and Ric Hickey (Bluffton).

Performances are on the third floor of Bluffton Town Hall, 156 N. Main St.

  • Storytimes at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, July 11-28.

Antique, classic and modern cars, trucks, motorcycles and tractors took center stage in downtown Bluffton on Friday, June 17 during the 54th Bluffton Festival of Wheels. There were 190 entries in the show, making it one of the largest events in recent memory.

On Monday, June 20, you might be surprised to find that many public offices–and the Bluffton Public Library–are closed for Juneteenth. This is a new federal holiday, created on June 17, 2021.

The name is short for “June Nineteenth,” the day in 1865 when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to ensure the freeing of enslaved people. In 1979, Texas made Juneteenth an official holiday, becoming the first state to do so.

The Bluffton Lions Club Festival of Wheels is presenting its 54th annual Festival of Wheels Cruise-In on Friday, June 17. The car, truck, tractor, golf cart, fire engine, motorcycle and Cushman show takes place right down Main and Cherry Streets, which are closed to traffic.

The show attracts serious enthusiasts and those who simply dream of driving down the road in something more glamorous that the family minivan or grocery toter.
