Former Bluffton resident Elaine Sommers Rich, 94, died on Sept. 27, 2020, in North Manchester, Indiana. She was born Feb. 8, 1926, to Monroe and Effie (Horner) Sommers in Plevna, Indiana. The children’s novel Hannah Elizabeth is semi-autobiographical about her childhood.
She graduated from Goshen College in 1947 and received a master’s degree from Michigan State University. She married Ronald Rich on June 14, 1953. Ronald died in 2014.
Julie Ann Bormuth, 55, died Sept. 24, 2020, at her residence. Julie was born Feb. 27, 1965, in Lima to Herbert and Dallice (Newman) Carpenter. On Dec. 26, 2007, she married Brad Bormuth.
Julie graduated from Columbus Grove High School and the Ohio State Beauty Academy. She was a receptionist at Reineke Ford in Lima.
William "Bill" Montgomery, died on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020, at Ohio State University Hospital.
Bill was born in the family farm house in Orange Township outside Bluffton, to the late Ivan and Helen (Bell) Montgomery. He is a graduate of Bluffton High and upon graduation in 1953, Bill served two years in the U.S. Army at the end of the Korean War. He was a member of the 86th Regiment's Crusader football team while serving in West Germany.
Anna Ruth Reichenbach, 95, died Sept. 24, 2020, at Lima Memorial Health System. Anna Ruth was born April 27, 1925, in rural Pandora to the late Albert and Pauline (Zimmerly) Lehman. On April 16, 1949, she married Dale Reichenbach who preceded her in death on March 11, 2005.

Former Bluffton resident James “Jim” Henry Green, 85, of Harlingen, Texas, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2020. He was born March 6, 1935, in Lima, to Henry and Louise Green.
Jim was raised on a farm in Bluffton. After graduating from Bluffton High School in 1953, he attended Ohio State University in Columbus from 1953 to 1955.
Prior to completing a degree, Jim entered the United States Air Force aviation cadet program in Harlingen, Texas, in 1956. He graduated from the program and received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant.
