Obituaries

Willis Taylor, Jr., Bluffon College graduate from Youngstown, Ohio, died on March 27, 2014.

He was born to Rev. Willis Taylor, Sr. and Lucille Morris Taylor, on Sept. 14, 1945, in Mayersville, Miss. When he was seven years old, his family moved to Youngstown.

Willis graduated from South High School in 1954. He graduated in 1958 from Bluffton College, now Bluffton University. While at B.C. he played football, basketball, and ran track. Following college he enlisted in the U.S. Army for two years.

In 1960, he married Barbara Streid and moved to Chicago.

A memorial service for Earl R. Bennett Sr. will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014, at St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora. 

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.  Mr. Bennett died Nov. 14, 2013, in Zephyrhills, Florida.

Donavin R. Montgomery, 91, died on April 21, 2014 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. He was born May 1, 1922 in Orange Township, Hancock County, Ohio to the late Walter and Pearl (Klinger) Montgomery. Donavin was married to Margaret Burkholder Montgomery and they divorced.

Marlenne Sue Habegger, 66, of Bluffton died unexpectedly over the Easter weekend at her home. She was born in Findlay on August 13 1947.  Her mother,  Maxine Smith Leeper preceded her in death. Her father, William Leeper of Findlay survives. She married Edward Lynn Habegger in 1965.  He died in 2006 after a long battle with cancer. 

Marlenne was a homemaker.  She was a long time member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church, Mt. Cory, and a graduate of Cory-Rawson High School. 

Donavin R. Montgomery, 91 died April 21, 2014 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.  Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. 

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.  Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Floyd H. Hartman, 87, of Bluffton died April 19, 2014, at 5:25 a.m., at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.  He was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Orange Township, Hancock County to the late Purl and Bertha Cook Hartman.  On August 29, 1946, he married Jeannine Stewart and she survives. 

He was a farmer and also a steamfitter/welder with the Steamfitters Local 693.  He also owned Hartman's Southern Truck Parts. He was a member of Bluffton Trinity United Methodist Church and a graduate of Mt. Cory High School.
