The Pandora-Gilboa High School boys’ varsity basketball team defeated Mohawk 50-31 in the Division IV regional semi-finals on Tuesday evening in Bowling Green State University's arena.

On Friday the Rockets face Crestview at BGSU. The winner advances to Columbus next weekend.

28 Bluffton swimmers compete at BG; several personal records set

Bluffton swimmers’ results from Northwest Ohio YMCA-League Championships

Saturday and Sunday, March 10-11, 28 Bluffton swimmers competed at the Northwest Ohio YMCA-League Championships at Bowling Green State University. They competed with 792 swimmers from the Northwest Ohio league that includes 18 teams from lower Michigan and northwest Ohio.

Ny Still Waters Bistro (formerly Jeanne's Kitchen)

By Still Waters Bistro (formerly Jeanne’s Kitchen) took first place in the Soup Cook-off held March 8 at Maple Crest Senior Living Village. 

The restaurant’s offering of butternut squash soup garnished with candied pecans, lead the menu of seven soups all prepared by area eateries. 

Luke’s Bar & Grill’s creamy chicken and rice soup took second place, while cream of ham and potato provided by the Rowdy Rooster, Columbus Grove, was third. 

"I never expected how much these people would do for me”

Joyce Klein had only planned on working at Willow Ridge for a few months.  She has found the experience so deeply rewarding that now she can’t even think of leaving.

“I lost my husband to cancer in 2016,” Joyce said softly.  “He was just a beautiful person.”  An 8th grade teacher at Allen East in Lima, Joyce arrived home by 3:30 p.m. and worried about spending the long evenings alone. 

He hopes to study mechanical engineering in college

Dakota Bricker, a Bluffton High School senior, is the February BHS student of the month.

He is involved in many sports including football, where he was named to the All- NWC first team in 2015 and 2017 and second team in 2016 with an honorable mention in 2017; baseball where is he was named to the All-NWC first team-2016, and second team in 2015 and 2017, and he played on the basketball team.
