Crestview won the Northwest Conference Scholastic Bowl competition with a perfect 6-0 record in matches held at Columbus Grove High School on November 1. Crestview's win is the fourth consecutive NWC Scholastic Bowl championship.
Bluffton and Ada tied for 2nd with 4-2 records in the competition followed by Allen East, Delphos Jefferson, Spencerville and Columbus Grove. Lincolnview and Paulding did not have teams entered in the competition.
Brielle Hamilton is the October Student of the Month at Bluffton High School. She is the daughter of Barry and Bonnie Hamilton of Bluffton.
Brielle is junior and is a 4.00 student. She participates in a variety of clubs including Spanish Club, SADD, Renaissance and Math Club. She is a member of the National Honor society and is in the band.
She attends church at Cable Road Alliance in Lima and is a youth group leader.
She is on the BHS girls' tennis team. She has been awarded an academic letter for her good grades.
A collection of family and individual portraits from the 1950s to 1970s taken by long-time Bluffton photographer, Leland Gerber, is on display in the third floor gallery at Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.
Gerber owned a photo studio on South Main Street, Bluffton, during the 1950s-70s era. Most class photos of Bluffton elementary students from this era were taken by Gerber.
A spaghetti benefit meal is planned from 4 to 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 15, for former Bluffton resident Tim Bame. Tim, his wife, Julie, and their two children, Christian, 17, and Hillarie, 14, were Bluffton residents for seven years.
