Chris Keller, vice president, clinical services, Blanchard Valley Health Systems, is the new Chief Administrative Officer of Bluffton Hospital. She was introduced to Bluffton council members on Monday evening.

She is replacing William Watkins, who has accepted a new assignment in the BVHS in Findlay. For the past 18 months in addition to his duties as Bluffton’s CAO, Watkins has also served as CAO of Blanchard Valley Medical Practices.

Watkins’ last day at Bluffton is Tuesday. He joined the hospital staff in July of 1979 as Director of Finance and eventually became CAO.

Earlier this month residents of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio made homemade ice cream. They sent the Icon the recipe. They even provided some photos. Here goes:

Mary Schechter, who turns 90 in September, will receive a life membership to the Bluffton Senior Citizens Association during the Monday, Sept. 9, Association dinner.

Ann Stratton will present an antique show and tell program following the meal. Persons attending may bring an item to be appraised by Stratton.

Tickets to the dinner are $7 and must be purchased by Wednesday, Sept. 4. Bluffton Trinity United Methodist Church will cater the meal.

Here are Allen County Junior Fair results from the Beaverdam Bunch 4-H Club. The Icon welcomes other Bluffton clubs to send us fair results.
