Daniel Mushangwe and Appiah Adubofour, two sophomore international students attending Bluffton University, recently sat down and discussed how their Bluffton lives compared to their lives in Africa.
Maple Crest Senior Living Village, 700 Maple Crest Ct., off Augsburger Road, Bluffton, will host a soup cook-off from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 6.
The cook-off is in the Patio Room in the lower level of the Maple Crest. Persons attending may sample gourmet soups prepared by several local restaurants and caterers, including:

Leon Martin Recognized by Chanticleer Book Reviews
Local writer André Swartley’s third novel, Leon Martin and the Fantasy Girl, has been named a finalist for the 2013 Dante Rossetti Awards for Young Adult Fiction, which is a division of the Chanticleer Blue Ribbon Awards Writing Competition.
Swartley currently lives in Japan where he teaches English.
