Toby Prinsen, Apollo Career Center automated manufacturing instructor, has been named Region III Advisor of the Year for SkillsUSA.
A letter of notification stated that, “due to your dedication to the organization and your many accomplishments as a career and technical educator, you were chosen as the overall winner for Region III.”
The Bluffton Lions Club observed their 80th annual charter night on Feb. 18. On Feb. 4, Rick Skillier, Bluffton police chief, was the club's featured speaker. The club has several events planned in March.

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) invites the community to participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house as it celebrates the opening of its Transition to Home Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, Feb. 23, from 1:30-3 p.m.
The Transition to Home Rehabilitation Center is located at Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton. Northwest Physical Therapy, Ottawa, is the therapy provider for the Transition to Home Center.
Bluffton American Legion Post 384 recently recognized Bluffton High School students who were winners in an Ohio Americanism test.

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, Bluffton, is accepting applications for the Barbara Fleming Memorial Nursing Scholarship. The scholarship is meant to promote the career of nursing.
The scholarship money may be used toward a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse, a degree as a Registered Nurse, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The scholarship is to be used to pay school-related expenses toward any of these degrees.
The scholarship offers a minimum award of $500, and will be paid directly to the vocational school or college where the student is enrolled.
The next Maple Crest Senior Living, 700 Maple Court, Bluffton, Sunday buffet is Feb. 16, according to Daren Lee, director of Maple Crest.
The menu includes:
• Yankee post roast with carrots and potatoes
• Baked chicken in a parmesan sauce with artichokes and tomatoes
• Wild rice pilaf
• Scalloped corn
• Dinner rolls
• Peach pie
• Coffee and iced tea.
The buffet is in the Patio Room at Maple Crest from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is open to all adults 55 and older at a cost of $7.50 per person.
