The next Maple Crest Senior Living, 700 Maple Court, Bluffton, Sunday buffet is March 16, according to Daren Lee, director of Maple Crest.
The menu includes:
• Corned beef and cabbage with carrots and potatoes
• Herbed pork roast
• Sweet potato casserole
• Sauteed fresh squash and zucchini
• Dinner rolls
• Cherry pie
• Coffee and iced tea.
The buffet is in the Patio Room at Maple Crest from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is open to all adults 55 and older at a cost of $7.50 per person.

Bluffton High School art student Nicole Edelbrock won first place in printmaking at this year's 26th annual Kewpee High School Art Invitational currently on exhibit at ArtSpace/Lima, according to Vicki Garmon, BHS art teacher.

Edelbrock's print is titled "Andy's Print." Eight Bluffton students have works in the juried show. In addition to Edelbrock, those students are:

 

Jessica Liska is currently student teaching 8th grade math and 7th grade language arts. She is the daughter of David and Susan Liska, 8433 Phillips Rd, Bluffton.

On the Ohio Northern University campus, Liska has been active in the Association for Supervision and Curriculum development, Kappa Delta Pi, Delta Zeta National sorority, Mortar Board, Alpha Lamb Delta and Phi Eta Sigma.

Ohio nursing home and assisted living residents are generally satisfied with the care they receive, according to the results of the 2013 Long-term Care Resident Satisfaction Survey, released by the Ohio Department of Aging. 

Maple Crest Senior Living Village, part of Mennonite Communities of Ohio (MHCO) in Bluffton, scored a 97.6 (out of a possible 100), which ranked it in the top 25 in the State of Ohio out of 598 assisted living facilities that participated. 

After a one-month weather delay the soup is back in the kitchen.

Maple Crest Senior Living Village, 700 Maple Crest Ct., off Augsburger Road, Bluffton, will host a soup cook-off from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 6. It as originally set for Feb. 6, but was delayed due to bad weather.

 

The February student of the month at Bluffton High School is 12th grade student Tyler Begg, son of Alan and Janet Begg of Bluffton.

Begg has a 4.00 GPA.

He is a member of Spanish Club, National Honor Society, Bluffton Cattle Club (4-H), Junior Fairboard and SNLY, the youth group at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He has been on the soccer team all four years of high school and was in track his 9th and 10th grade years.

He has won special awards in high school in Latin II, Industrial Tech, Geometry and Algebra II.
